Play for Good

Play. Challenge. Give.

You're already playing golf, going for a run, hosting a games night, or chasing a target at work. Play4Good turns that into a challenge. Set yourself a pledge, challenge a friend, or put a stake on the thing you were already doing, and it becomes funding for a growing network of vetted South African charities.

Funds reach our charities three ways. The first: challenge a friend, or set yourself a personal challenge, and donate once it's done. Create a fundraiser to capture every challenge and pledge in one place, and the funds go straight to our vetted charities.

The second: get your club or organisation involved. Register for your own branded page, then every member who takes on a challenge or sets a pledge captures it under your club's name, still supporting the same shared pool.

The third: back a cause directly. Registered charities run their own campaign on Play4Good, and every challenge or pledge their supporters capture under it sends funds straight to that charity.

How It Works

Even when you lose, you win.

A challenge, a pledge, a bit of friendly rivalry, that's all it takes.

1

Do What You Already Love

Golf, a run, a games night, a work challenge, a school day. You don't need a new activity, just the one you already had planned.

→
2

Add a Little Stake

Challenge a friend, or set yourself a pledge. Capture it in a fundraiser page in seconds.

→
3

Collect the Donations

Share your page and take donations by card, SnapScan or EFT. Every donation shows up live on your fundraiser's progress bar.

→
4

It Reaches a Vetted Charity

Your donations join Play4Good's shared pool of vetted charities, or go straight to the specific charity you fundraised for.

Three Ways We Raise Funds

One goal. Three ways to get there.

However you choose to give, it all supports the same cause.

🎯

Challenge a Friend, or Yourself

Play golf, go for a run, host a games night, or chase a target at work, then challenge someone (or set yourself a pledge) and donate once it's done. Create a fundraiser to capture it, and the funds support Play4Good's shared pool of vetted charities.

🤝

Clubs & Organisations Get Their Own Page

Any golf course, running club, or other club or organisation can register to get its own branded page, then share it with its members so anyone can start a fundraiser under the club's name. Funds still support the shared pool.

❤️

Charities Lead Their Own Campaigns

Registered charities can run their own fundraiser on Play4Good and get their own supporters to each start a fundraiser under it. Funds raised this way go straight to that charity, not the shared pool.

Why Play4Good?

Giving got tired. We made it fun again.

We started Play4Good after years spent close to South African charities, watching incredible people do incredible work. Feeding children. Educating teenagers with nothing. Caring for communities that had been forgotten. And still fighting every single month just to keep the lights on.

The usual ways of raising funds aren't working anymore. Donors are tired of galas, raffles and the same guilt-driven asks. CSI budgets get cut. Grants disappear. And the charities carrying the weight of this country's most vulnerable people are left sending proposals into silence.

So we built something different. A small donation attached to the things people already love doing. Challenge a friend, or challenge yourself, and let the moment become something bigger. It isn't about a handful of big donors. It's thousands of ordinary South Africans giving a small amount, again and again, until it adds up to something extraordinary.

The Bigger Picture

What Play4Good teaches your learners

A Play4Good Day is more than a fun activity. It is one of the most powerful lessons a child can learn. That they have the ability to make a difference, right now, with whatever they have.

💛

The Power of Giving

Most children grow up hearing about charities and causes. Play4Good lets them experience giving personally. When a child contributes R5 and then sees the quarterly report showing what that collective giving achieved, something shifts.

They stop seeing giving as something adults do. They start seeing it as something they can do too.

🤝

Empathy and Awareness

Play4Good connects learners to the reality that not every child in South Africa has what they have. That awareness, experienced through a fun and positive activity rather than a lecture, builds genuine empathy.

Children who grow up giving grow up caring. And caring changes everything.

🏆

Collective Impact

When every learner in a class contributes R5, and every class in a school does the same, and every school in a city joins in, the numbers become extraordinary.

Play4Good teaches children the power of collective action. That small things, done together, add up to something much bigger than any one person could achieve alone.

🌍

Citizenship and Responsibility

South Africa needs young people who feel personally responsible for the country they are inheriting. Play4Good builds that sense of responsibility early, in a way that feels natural rather than forced.

A child who gives monthly from the age of seven does not stop when they grow up. They carry it with them.

Register your own company page, and every staff challenge, sales competition, or game at work can be captured as a fundraiser under it, all showing up together on your page. One monthly EFT, full compliance reporting and Section 18A receipts.

A Different Kind of CSI

Connect your CSI giving to your people

Most companies write a CSI cheque at year end. A board signs off on it, it goes to a charity, and nobody inside the business feels it. The staff who worked hard all year have no connection to the giving that happened in their name.

Play4Good changes that completely. Instead of a once-a-year cheque, your CSI budget becomes a living programme that runs through your organisation every single month. Staff do not just hear about your CSI commitment. They are your CSI commitment.

Every challenge completed, every target hit and every game played triggers a donation. Staff feel the giving because they created it. That connection changes company culture in a way that a cheque never can.

Start a fundraiser to capture all donations

Any department, team or company can create their own Play4Good fundraiser page, a single link where every donation from a sales incentive or team challenge is captured, tracked, and shown in real time. Here's a live example:

Three Ways Staff Get Involved

Sales challenges, health challenges and fun activities. All connected to giving.

📈

Sales Challenges

Link your monthly sales targets to giving. Every time a sales rep hits a milestone, a pre-agreed donation fires. Teams compete to hit targets knowing that every number on the board has a real-world consequence beyond the business.

Sales culture changes when winning also means giving. Your team pushes harder and feels better doing it.

🏃

Health Challenges

Attach micro-donations to your wellness programme. Every 10,000 steps, every gym session and every healthy activity your staff complete triggers a donation to Play4Good.

Staff get healthier, feel motivated and give back at the same time. Three wins from one programme. Wellness engagement goes up because there is now a purpose beyond personal health.

🎮

Fun Activities

Once a month your team plays a Play4Good game together. A quiz, a relay, a scavenger hunt or a creative challenge. Entry is R20 to R50 per person and the energy in the room is unlike anything a standard team-building session creates.

People look forward to it. They talk about it. And they know their fun is funding something real.

Build community through giving

Monthly Play4Good events that bring congregations together, building fellowship while raising funds for those who need it most.

Faith in Action

Giving is already in your DNA

Churches are the most natural giving communities in South Africa. Generosity, compassion, and caring for others are not add-ons to what a church does. They are the foundation of it.

Play4Good gives your congregation a structured, fun, and tangible way to live that generosity every month. Not through a collection plate. Through an activity that brings people together, creates fellowship, and generates real impact for South African charities at the same time.

Your congregation does not just hear about people being helped. They become the people doing the helping. That is a powerful thing to experience as a community.

Every congregation can create their own Play4Good fundraiser page, a single link where every donation from your monthly event is captured, tracked, and shown in real time. Share it with your church community, and watch the giving grow together.

The Spiritual Angle

Giving that your congregation feels

Most churches already give. Play4Good simply makes that giving visible, communal, and connected to something your congregation can see and measure. When people see the impact of their collective generosity, faith in what is possible grows alongside it.

✝️

Generosity as a Practice

Giving is not just a value in most faith communities. It is a practice. Play4Good gives your congregation a structured monthly giving practice that is active, participatory, and joyful rather than passive.

When giving becomes something you do together every month, it becomes part of who you are as a community.

🤝

Fellowship Through Giving

Play4Good events bring your congregation together in a way that goes beyond a Sunday service. A quiz night, a games evening or a fun day brings all ages and all life stages together around something that matters.

Fellowship deepens when people do things together. Play4Good gives your congregation something to do together every single month.

📊

Seeing the Impact

Every quarter your congregation receives a full impact report showing which charities their giving reached and what changed because of it. Real numbers. Real lives. Real impact.

When your congregation can see what their giving achieved, generosity grows. People give more when they know it is making a difference.

Activities Your Church Can Run

Something for every congregation

There is no prescribed format for a Play4Good church event. Your church knows its congregation better than anyone. Choose whatever brings your people together and makes them smile.

🧠

Quiz Night

Teams of 4 to 6. General knowledge, Bible trivia, or themed rounds. Entry per team. Works for any age group and any congregation size. One of the easiest and most energising events your church can run.
🎮

Family Fun Day

An outdoor or indoor fun day with games, activities, and food. Entry per family or per person. Works brilliantly as a quarterly event that the whole church looks forward to. All ages, all groups, all together.
🎲

Games Evening

Board games, card games, bingo. A relaxed evening where people of all ages sit around tables, play together, and contribute to something real. Works especially well for cell groups, youth groups, and women or men groups.
⚽

Sports Day

A church sports day with a Play4Good twist. Entry per participant. Run it as a round-robin tournament or a fun team relay. Gets the young adults and youth groups involved and creates the kind of energy that builds community.
🎤

Talent and Concert Night

A talent evening or concert where entry goes to Play4Good. Showcase the gifts in your congregation while raising funds for charities. Combines celebration, community, and giving in one memorable evening.
🍽️

Community Lunch or Braai

A shared meal where entry or a contribution goes to Play4Good. One of the most natural expressions of church community. People eat together, talk, connect, and give back. Simple, warm, and deeply meaningful.

Three Ways to Play4Good

Competitive giving the way it should be

🤺

Competitive Challenges

Challenge a friend or playing partner before your round or match.

Set your stakes at R50, R100, R200, or whatever you agree. Play your game. The loser donates directly to Play4Good right after via card, SnapScan, or EFT.

No admin, no fuss. Just settle up on the spot.

Even when you lose, you win because you made a difference.

🎯

Personal Pledges

Set yourself a personal giving target tied to your game.

Donate R10 per bogey, R20 per birdie, or whatever you decide. The worse you play, the more you give. And the better you feel about it.

Settle up immediately after your game with a quick card payment or SnapScan.

Challenge your playing partners to match your pledge and watch the giving multiply.

📸

Share Your Game

Snap a photo or short video of your round, your challenge, or your donation moment.

Share it on social media and tag @play4goodfoundation. Show the world how you played for a good cause.

For Registered Clubs

Once you're registered, here's what your club can run

A partner golf course isn't limited to one campaign. Once your club is registered, you can set up as many as you like, all linked back to your club's page so every rand raised counts toward your club's total.

🎯

Skills Challenges

Set up a campaign that donates for every double bogey. Or one for missing a specific nominated green. Members join voluntarily and give based on how their own round goes.

🏆

Competition Giving

Create a campaign for a betterball competition or your club championship. Members who choose to take part give as part of the competition.

🤝

Golf Day Partner Campaigns

Set up a campaign for one of your golf day sponsors. Your partner can then share that campaign link with everyone playing on the day.

⛳

Member Fundraisers

Individual members can still start their own fundraiser under your club's page too, for their own challenge or cause.

Every campaign feeds into your club's page, so you can see exactly how much your club has raised in total. Funds never pass through the club itself. They go straight to Play4Good's shared pool of vetted South African charities.

Partner Golf Courses

Play these courses, fund a cause

These courses are registered Play4Good partner clubs. Start a fundraiser tagged to one of them, for your golf day, a club challenge, or just your own round, and the course gets the credit, while every rand still goes to Play4Good's shared pool of vetted South African charities. Courses never receive or handle the funds directly.

Games Evenings

Host a games evening that actually matters

Friends, family, neighbours. Any gathering becomes a giving event when you Play4Good. Fun, competitive, and every entry or lost game goes straight to charity. Even when you lose, you win because you made a difference.

Get in Touch
Why Games Evenings Work

The most natural giving event there is

People have been gathering around games for thousands of years. Games evenings bring out the best in people. The laughter, the competitiveness, the stories, the moments. Play4Good simply adds one more layer to all of that. The gathering now has a purpose that goes beyond the evening itself.

There is no simpler way to raise money for charity than to host an evening your friends and family already want to come to. No sponsorship forms. No awkward asks. Just an evening people pay to attend because they genuinely want to be there, and every rand goes straight to a vetted South African charity.

Games evenings also grow. The first one might be ten people around your dining room table. Six months later it is forty people in a venue and people are already asking when the next one is.

Start a fundraiser to capture all donations

Every host can create their own Play4Good fundraiser page, a single link where every donation from your games evening is captured, tracked, and shown in real time. Share it with everyone coming, and watch the total grow before, during and after the evening itself.

Sponsor Play4Good

Your brand, built into giving.

Play4Good is growing. We are looking for companies who want to do more than write a cheque at year end. We want sponsors who believe in what we are building and want to be part of it every month.

Why Sponsor Play4Good

This is not a once-a-year thing

Most CSI programmes happen once a year and nobody inside the company feels them. Play4Good is different. It runs every month, through activities your staff already enjoy, and every quarter your team sees exactly where the money went and what it did.

💰

What Your Sponsorship Does

Your sponsorship of Play4Good goes directly into our ability to grow. It funds outreach to schools, clubs, churches, and companies. It pays for charity vetting, onboarding, and the quarterly impact reporting that keeps everyone accountable.

The more we grow, the more charities we can support. Funds you put behind us multiply into giving across South Africa.

You are not funding a campaign. You are funding the engine that makes the whole thing run.

🤝

What You Get

Your name on the story. Founding sponsors are recognised on our website, in our communications, and in every quarterly impact report we publish.

Full impact reporting. Every quarter you receive a report showing exactly where the funds went and what changed because of them.

Section 18A tax certificate. Sponsorship funds go directly to the Play4Good Foundation NPO, so your company can be issued a Section 18A certificate for the donation, making it deductible against taxable income.

Staff who feel it. Invite your team into Play4Good channels, charity visits, and the moments that make giving real rather than corporate.

First mover advantage. The companies who come in early shape what Play4Good becomes. That matters more than most people think.

📊

The Opportunity

Play4Good is at the start of something. The model works. The channels are live. The charities are vetted and ready to receive.

What we need now is the capacity to scale. To get into every school. To activate every golf club. To reach every congregation and every corporate team in South Africa.

Be part of building something that outlasts a campaign.

Every Kilometre Counts

Race a friend, chase a personal goal, or pledge per kilometre. However you move, make it count for good.

Why Running Works

Every step or pedal already means something. Now it can mean more.

South Africans lace up and clip in every single week, before sunrise, after work, alone or in a pack, covering millions of kilometres that used to mean nothing beyond a good time on the leaderboard. Play4Good turns that same sweat into real funding for the causes that need it most. No extra time, no separate fundraiser, just the run or ride you were already going to do, now carrying a little more weight.

A single parkrun between friends can fund a school lunch. A month of training can help cover a shelter's electricity bill. It costs you nothing you weren't already giving to the road, and it turns every rep, every hill, every early alarm into something that outlasts the finish line.

Running solo? Create your own fundraiser and turn your next training block into a cause. Part of a club or running crew? Set up one fundraiser for the whole group and rally everyone behind a fun challenge that means something beyond the podium.

Start a fundraiser to capture all donations

Every runner or rider can create their own Play4Good fundraiser page, a single link where every donation from your run or ride is captured, tracked, and shown in real time. Here's a live example:

Three Ways to Move For Good

Pick the challenge that fits how you move

🏁

Challenge a Friend

Pick a race, a ride, or a distance, agree on a stake, then go do it. Whoever finishes behind donates, and so does anyone who doesn't show up at all. It's perfect for parkrun rivals, cycling training partners, or finally settling an old score on the road or the trail.
🎯

Personal Challenge

Set your own goal, whether that's 50km this month, a new personal best, or whatever pushes you on foot or on two wheels. Commit to a donation the moment you hit it. It turns a normal training block into a fundraiser, and no one else is required.
📈

Per-KM Pledge

Pledge a rand amount for every kilometre you run or cycle this week or month. Log your distance, watch the total climb, and donate it in one go. The more you move, the more good it does, and it's built for streak runners and long training blocks alike.
🏃

Club Integration

Register your running club as a Play4Good partner club and get your own branded page, logo, cover photo, and description included.

Share your page's link with your members. Anyone can start a fundraiser for a club race, a training challenge, or their own run tagged to your club, and your club gets the credit.

Your club never handles the funds directly. Funds still go straight to Play4Good's shared pool of vetted South African charities.

Share Your Run

Snap a photo or short video of your run, ride, or challenge in progress.

Share it on social media and tag @play4goodfoundation. Show the world how you moved for a good cause.

Partner Running Clubs

Run with these clubs, fund a cause

These clubs are registered Play4Good partner clubs. Start a fundraiser tagged to one of them, for a club race, a training challenge, or just your own run, and the club gets the credit, while every rand still goes to Play4Good's shared pool of vetted South African charities. Clubs never receive or handle the funds directly.

Start a fundraiser. Share it. Watch it grow

Starting a fundraiser takes under a minute: pick your reason, a golf challenge, a run, a school drive, a birthday wish, tell us a little about it, and set a goal. We'll give you a link to share with friends, family, and social media, and every donation shows up on your page in real time. Funds raised support our shared pool of vetted South African charities.

If you want to raise funds for a specific charity, select it and start your fundraiser under that charity's page instead.

How It Works

From club sign-up to funds raised, in four steps

📝

1. Register Your Club

Any club or organisation can apply, whatever the sport: golf, running, tennis, padel, cycling, or something else entirely. Restaurants, events, and companies are welcome too, anyone with a community behind them. Takes a couple of minutes: logo, cover photo, a short description, and your contact details.
✅

2. Get Approved & Listed

Once we approve your application, your club gets its own page right here on the Clubs directory, branded with your logo, cover photo, and description, plus a link you can share anywhere.
📣

3. Share With Your Members

Send your club's page to your members, teammates, or community. Anyone can start their own fundraiser tagged to your club, for an event, a challenge, or just because. Your club gets the credit and the branding on every one.
💛

4. Funds Go to the Pool

Your club is a partner, not a beneficiary. It never receives or handles funds directly. By default, every rand raised goes to Play4Good's shared pool, supporting its network of vetted South African charities. Want a specific fundraiser to support one charity instead? Ask us to ring-fence it, funds still show up under your club's name, but go straight to that charity, as long as the charity is already registered on Play4Good.
Good to Know

Questions clubs usually ask

💰

Does this cost anything?

No. Registering your club is completely free, and there's no ongoing cost or admin. You get a page and a link; your members do the rest.
🏦

Do we ever handle the money?

No. Your club never receives, banks, or accounts for any funds. Every donation goes straight from the donor to Play4Good, so there's nothing for your club to manage or report on.
❤️

Can our members support a specific charity?

Yes, if you'd like. A fundraiser under your club normally feeds the shared pool, but we can ring-fence a specific fundraiser to one charity on request, as long as that charity is already registered on Play4Good. It will still show up as funds raised under your club's name.
🏆

Is this the same as becoming a beneficiary charity?

No. Registering as a Club gets you a branded page and lets your members fundraise under your name, but funds go to the shared pool or a ring-fenced charity, not to your club. If you're a registered NPO that wants to receive donations directly, apply to join as a Charity instead.
